Past Events

In the past, RIT Skeptics has hosted a number of widely attended events, including talks and debates. We’ve hosted talks by PZ Myers and Dan Barker, we’ve held a debate with IVCF, and we’ve done field trips to many areas near RIT.

In the past year, we hosted two speakers, Penny Higgins and Bill Bishop. Penny Higgins is a professor at the University of Rochester, and she gave a talk about the evidence for evolution. Bill Bishop is a mechanical engineer, and he spoke about the science behind climate change.

In addition, we held watch parties for the debate between Bill Nye and Ken Ham, and for the first episode of Cosmos. We also hosted our own debate, between Dan Courtney and Jon Kaus, on the existence of God.
